N7CZ - Untitled - How lucky I was to capture the Milwaukee Road #8 leading a grain extra in the fall of 1979 outside of Highwood, Montana. The late afternoon sun is waning and it will soon be dark. The normal operating time for the Milwaukee's Northern Montana Sub. Who knew that in just a few short months, this line will go silent when it is embargoed.

Tracy McKibben - Freight over foggy river fishermen - I decided to see what I could do with a photo editor to get rid of the furnace in all of my bridge pictures. A slow-moving freight emerges from the fog as two fishermen try their luck under the bridge. Looks like the sun is starting to burn through the fog in the distance.

Tracy McKibben - North Shore getaway - Here we see Ole and Lena unloading their luggage, preparing to check in to the lighthouse-turn-bed-and-breakfast on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Should be a nice relaxing weekend.

I really like that low angle shot - it makes the locomotive look massive.

Is there a larger image of "subwayaz - untitled (1)" instead of just a thumbnail?

I found it in his RailImages and it is now posted in place of the thumbnail.

That's actually a different photograph; but, close enough...

14 votes and we have a race! Lets get some more votes in! :D

I had confirmed the image with subwayaz as he was having difficulties embedding his photos. At the time the thumbnail was the best we could do but now that Adam found the larger image I think it's safe to say subwayaz would have chosen it instead. It is slightly different, however virtually the same.

(subwayaz, its still ultimately your decision, so let me or Adam (SteamDonkey74) know via PM if you still prefer the thumbnail sized image) ;)

Congratulations to our 2009 Modeling Photo of the Year winners, and also to all participants!

    First Place:
marty coil - Pickups and setouts near Spokane
    [IMG]

    Second Place:
Tracy McKibben - North Shore getaway - Here we see Ole and Lena unloading their luggage, preparing to check in to the lighthouse-turn-bed-and-breakfast on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Should be a nice relaxing weekend.

    Third Place:jpwisc - South Bound NP 105

And I normally do not do this, however in light of the multiple way ties the other contests are finishing up with and the fact that this photo was tied for 3rd up until the last vote, I'm going to give out an honorable mention award to what I believe is a deserving photo.

    Honorable Mention:
N7CZ - Untitled - How lucky I was to capture the Milwaukee Road #8 leading a grain extra in the fall of 1979 outside of Highwood, Montana. The late afternoon sun is waning and it will soon be dark. The normal operating time for the Milwaukee's Northern Montana Sub.
