Here are the winners of the 2010 Modeling Photo of the Year contest! Scott Stutzman walked away with first place! Scott will receive a $25 Dollar RailroadMerchant Gift Certificate! In the first round, Mark Dance, GrampysTrains and Jon Grant all finished 2nd! Jon Grant was selected to take home 2nd place after the first tie-breaker. Jon will receive a $15 Dollar RailroadMerchant Gift Certificate! It took a second tie-breaker between Mark Dance and GrampysTrains before we could name 3rd place! And even then, Mark Dance pulled ahead by just a single vote! Mark will receive a $10 Dollar RailroadMerchant Gift Certificate!
It's hard to believe this next one is still in the novice category! a proud SD&AE modeler is our top first-timer. Our next first-timers all tied for 2nd place! Again, it's hard to believe pray59, mcjaco, and a proud SD&AE modeler are still first-timers! The mystery prize drawing will be held shortly as well! Thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a photo! I hope everyone enjoyed the contests as much as I did!
Congratulations Scott, Jon and Mark! Your images and artistry are awesome and very deserving of recognition. Thank you for your participation and inspiration. I hope we see more of your work in the future. To all of the others who entered, thank you for great contributions to the visual wealth on TrainBoard. I am certain many of you will be winners in upcoming contests. Finally, to Mark W., glad you are home and thanks for all of your work on this project! Best regards, Roger Bernhardt
Great photos everyone! Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who took part. And well done Mark for organising it all. Mike
It's an honor to have one chosen for Photo of the Year! There were so many great photos I didn't think I had a chance. I hope everyone would consider the work that goes into making the model, taking the photograph and submitting them for critique. Congrats to all the entries!
I feel very good about the results...very satisfied. At one time or another along the several sorting-out votes I voted for each of the first three photos in the first post. Not too shabby at all. Congratulations, fellas.
The real winners are everyone that get to see the excellent modeling and photography here at Trainboard! A big Congratulations to all the contest winners.....fantastic work!
What's funny, is the one of mine that got the most votes wasn't my favorite. I've already taken a ton of new photos, in two scales! Can't wait for next year!
Funny how it always works out that way. No need to wait for next year. The weekly challenges resume the week of February 1st!! (Sunday, Jan 30th)
Mystery Prize Winner! The time has come to select the mystery prize winner! The way I did this was by listing each members name, in order of their first entry. I removed the names of the three gift certificate winners (and my own as well ) , and assigned the remaining names to their corresponding number in the list. We were left with a total of 16 names for the mystery prize raffle. Here is the list: 1. RBrodzinsky 2. Bruce-in-MA 3. Stourbridge Lion 4. Tracy McKibben 5. GrampysTrains 6. COverton 7. a proud SD&AE modeler 8. nscaler44 9. dakotacowgirl 10. r_i_straw 11. Eugen Haenseler 12. Flash Blackman 13. maxairedale 14. pray59 15. mcjaco 16. Flashwave With each name assigned a number, I went to random.org, a random number generator. I entered 1 for min, 16 for max and hit generate. The result and our lucky winner is number 7! a proud SD&AE modeler gets the prize! Congratulations! Should I reveal the item now, or leave it up to Tom to show off after it arrives? *Each mystery prize was acquired in exchange for a 5 dollar bill at the Worlds Greatest Hobby show in Omaha, Nebraska.
