360 degree panoramic view of the layout (PC users, click on the link below and select "open" or save to your C: drive or desktop and run from there):
    http://www.boche.net/trains/jasonbochetrainroom.exe (1.25MB download)

2 mainlines run from the main train room, through a wall, through a closet, through another wall, and into the unfinished laundry room where the train dogbones, turns around, and comes back out.

Use the mouse to go backwards, forwards, left, right, plus/minus to zoom in/out respectively.

You'll find a yellow circle "hot spot" on the doorway that connects the laundry room to the train room. Click on that hot spot to "virtually" go through the doorway and see the other room where the trains are running.

Pretty cool Jason. I thought your layout was in a spare bedroom before I seen this. It would be so nice to have a basement.

It looks like you have made quite a bit of progress so far. Keep up the great work. :D

PS: I didn't realize how much of a geek you were. You have quite the boneyard in the laundry room don't you? [IMG]

Looks like he has quite a shortage of motive power! [IMG] [IMG]

Jason, you must have a direct line to the local Power Company to run all those engines! Are you going to lay more track so there will be room to pull some cars? Looking good! :D

Yes Pray59, I have a bit of a bone yard growing. That's nothing new. All those machines are running though and you can only see about half of them in that picture. The furnace equipment is blocking the view to the hubs, switches, and MAUs, the dual CPU Proliant 800 VMWARE GSX server that runs a Microsoft Cluster Server, the PIII450 that runs the Active Directory domain in the house as well as Microsoft Exchange 2000 for the MAPI mail inside the house and POP3/SMTP mail for my internet customers. There's also 2 external DLT15/30 tape drives in a SCSI chain hanging off the rack mount dual CPU Proliant 850R web server which is visible. It does the weekly backups on Sunday nights on the 2 DLTs. There's a 4MM 4/8DAT mounted internally in the 850R that does nightly incremental backups of all the servers. The 850R is sitting on top of 3 servrers that are standing up on their sides - those are NT 3.51 Server that I turned into TCP/IP routers. Why NT 3.51? Because that's really all they will run - they have 486/33MHz CPUs. They are soon to be replaced with Pentium Pro 200MHz CPUs. (hey, I'm on a budget..)
Anyway, what you're seeing is the dungeon - Upstairs in my computer room is where all the fun stuff is ;)

BoxcabE50 and Watash, there is no shortage of motive power on my layout, I assure you of that. Basically, the locos that are on the tracks have their decoders installed. The locos that are set back sitting on the ground all lined up in a row are still DC and don't have their decoders yet. Still working on getting all the decoders.

As far as my track, the 2 mainlines are all laid and all the sidings are laid. The only thing left to lay is the yard/engine facilities, and the benchwork and trackwork for the ore docks module which will come much later.
My track plan looks like this:

From what I've seen, I don't have a whole lot of motive power compared to most others that post on these boards. I hear stories of people who have well over 100 or 200 locos. My current loco:rolling stock ratio is 45:194.

I got a few requests from MAC users who aren't able to view the PC version of what I posted.

Here's the version for MAC users - open the link in your web browser. The .jar plugin is provided.

Thanks for posting the track plan! It will be interesting to see some pictures of that ore dock. Though I spotted a couple of DM&IR locos!

You made me curious. So I had to check my menagerie. My rolling stock ratio is much more than I'd remembered! 37:191. Plus a very few passenger cars.... I am surprised. Didn't realize I'd accumulated that much!

    :D
