    A fine display of freight power, Roger. I had a tough time finding 6323 info, but it looks like it was a 4-6-0 originally built for the big four.

    6323 should be an H-6a. 2-8-2.That's what my records say.

    Yes the 6300s were renumbered from 1700 , 1800 H- 6 USRA engines to give room for the diesels . LEW

    Thanks, LEW. I stand corrected. Finally found the correct 6323 in Lansing/Vail encyclopedia. I found two others numbered 6323 at different times. NYC had many, many locomotives and changed numbers at times. The photo is still a great one.
