We look forward to seeing many contributors, remember this is to encourage all modelers to take a shot of the subject rather than post a photo taken in the past.
This is one of the most unique signs I have ever seen. I confess the photo is not new, but the sign is still there. For those of you unfamiliar with Portland, OR, steam operations, the Brooklyn yard roundhouse is the home of Southern Pacific 4-8-4 4449 and SP&S 4-8-4 700, plus many other historic railroad locomotives and cars. Doyle McCormack is the CMO and engineer for 4449, and this sign is posted at the side door of the roundhouse. Quite fitting. You may notice that some of his crewmembers added the handicapped parking sign beneath it.
Hiawatha Avenue Here's my entry, a negative scan of the Hiawatha Av. control box. Louisville, Ky. 11-23-08
This lot of signs are piled near the Denver Amtrak station. Our reliable P42 crapped out and we had to wait about 45 min for a new one. Then they decided to re-route us through Wyoming, bypassing Glenn canyon and all the best parts of the trip.. So much for the first time on the train right?
Sherman Hill is scenic in its own way--not anything like Colorado's canyons, but it quasi-rare mileage. Did you get pics? We expect a complete report!
UP gave me this from their junk yard in Rosenberg. It was pretty beat up in a grade crossing incident. I straightened it out as best I could.
Missed the last few contest, but have an entry this. Found these SLOW signs in Casey IL. There’s the same signs on the other side of the crossing. inch
Last light at 57th St With less than 5 minutes of light left in the day, the crossing protection at 57th Street in Great Falls basks in the warm glow of a Big Sky Country sunset:
Wow! Guess I picked the right photo from that day. I think everyone submitted great pictures!
