Thought I'd post some pics of a recent 9-44cw and a older 9-44cw that I've had for a while! I like both units! It makes me want to detail unit a bit! I did find a small mistake with the detailed unit. I checked the other 2 and 1 was right and the other had the same mistake. It doesnt bother me but might bother some. I'm thinking about buying more! Would you run these together on your layout? Thanks

Most curious to know what the "mistake" on the detailed (obviously Scale Trains) unit is. There are many variations on units of the same model so what you consider an error may not be. The boys at ST work from photos of each unit IIRC, and I'd be surprised if they were wrong - their track record is impressive.

The Kato unit positively SCREAMS for detail and shows very poorly next to the detailed one. I've moved to detailed units and run very few Katos these days. Mostly I'm running Fox Valley which look better than Kato right out of the box, and when you add details, WOW!

But the last six locos I bought were Scale Trains. They are now IMO the gold standard.

I'd run them together myself but you can for sure tell a difference. Like Jim, I am wondering what the error is?
