We are visiting family in North Carolina and the railroad action wasn't too hot last time I visited. The first 2 days were staying up in Raleigh and visiting the state fair which just happens to be beside the railroad tracks, the rest of the time we will be down near Wilmington.

    Welcome to Trainboard.
Who do I have to kill to have that much space? :tb-biggrin:I had to re-arrange my small apartment to fit in 2 door panels in an L-shape. I've been trying for months to figure out how to fit in a third one, but if I do, I'll have to move my bed into the bathroom.

As others have stated, this is the best place to get any advice and suggestions that you need. About half of my layout came from ideas that I've picked up here. Keep us posted on the progress, with pictures, if possible.

    Dave.

    Hi Shaun,
Welcome from this side of the pond, I also have an insulated timber home for my SF/UP layout which I have made modular as in our part of the UK there are many N clubs and exhibitions to attend.
We have a very active American Railroad Group which has running meets every quarter in Gosport, a short trip down the A32 for you.

Hi Bill no you're not that far my house is only 1hr15 to Southampton it took me longer than that to get to the end of my street when I lived in London. Just done some measuring today and worked out the shape and dimensions of the benchwork. All I have to do now is work out a plan. Roughly calculated with a linear track plan I will have an approximate mainline run of 100 feet.

    Shaun,

I've followed your work in the various issues of Model Railroad. I saved those copies for further refrence. I could of sworn you were a hard core Yankee type who grew up along the Santa Fe tracks.

It's good to have you on board here and I'l reverse my earlier statement. Should I have questions for you...you'l be hearing from me.

Why not bring this up in the Layout Design Discussion forum? We're always ready to help.

Once I have a rough idea of what I want to do I will, so far I have stolen a bit from that layout a bit from this layout a small portion of that one etc etc. I do have a few ideas of what I want though the first is it must have an intermodal facility.
