How is the Acela service doing. Considering it is meant to save Amtrak, I have heard several negative comments about it. How many of the 20 trainsets are in service, are the trains full? Thanks, Dane

Not quite sure about the loadings, but the trainsets arent 100% full all of the time. Not very many people ride the train from end to end (in the case of WAS-BOS service), often getting off at interim points. I saw some loadings info floating around, and if I find it, ill post. Also, this monday (July 9th), Amtrak will replace 4 Metroliners with Acela Express trains. Three new AX's will be introduced (BOS-NYP, NYP-WAS, WAS-NYP), and the 2180 & 2183 (the "non-stop" train between WAS-NYP) will add stops at BWI Airport, Wilmington and Newark. As for the weekend AX's, only one round trip WAS-BOS will be added. Justin BTW: When the hell do you go on AIM? Ain't seen you on in ages!
