Impressive work throughout!!! For a moment i thought i was looking at 1/1 scale carpet and wall paintings... Thanks for posting! Yannis
That is impressive. I'm fascinated by the advancement and capabilities of 3D printers. They were merely an oddity when I retired from the computer industry 20 years ago.
I'm test fitting walls and correcting mistakes. Lighting strip installed in first floor ceiling. All LEDS. My boy friend got them on ebay.
Candy, Absolutely superb throughout! The jazz band mural is a really cool touch. One question, though, and maybe I missed it- What did you use for the carpet?
The carpet and the dance floor are paper. The internet is a great source of ..whatever you need. You will need a good photo editing program and a printer. My photo shop gives me a grid that blocks off a standard eight and a half by eleven office paper in one half inch block. I can adjust the size of my image to print the size image I want. So it looks like HO scale. Carpets are easy. Just google carpets and select images. Lots of samples are shown. Just find one that you like and it must be a large file so you can reduce it and still have the detail. Have a look at all that's available.
Candy, Awesome work, my lady, and glad to see you are feeling better. I have one comment regarding the lighting. This is in no way meant to criticize what you are doing, only a suggestion. Most bowling allies, that I recall, had very subdued lighting except over the deck where the pins were set, so in order to highlight the pins they had spots under the facade covering the pit. I would suggest a much higher resistor on the LED strip. Not knowing what size comes on the strip I would experiment with 1.5 - 3.0 K Ohm resistors to dim the overall light and I would get a second strip, like you have and place it behind the facade that you put in front of the pins. That way when looking through your windows one would see the pit of pins highlighted. Clear as mud, huh? Just my 1-1/2 cents worth. And as Shortround suggested, you will want subdued lighting in the upper lounge. Why don't you put some LEDs, as spots, on the ceiling and shine them on your wall tapestry to make it pop ? What ever you do it will be first class, can't wait to see completion. All we need to do is convert you to N Scale. Sorry about the long winded post, Carl
A good post. The lighting strip said 12 volts. I put a 9 volt battery on it and you can see how bright it is. But the lighting is up front so it might not be a problem. If is works out to be too bright I will play with the resistor things.
I think it probably took less time to build Trump Tower then it will take me to build my bowling ally.
Candy, my friend, quality takes time and you do "Q" work, so don't be concerned about how long it takes. Besides, I would much rather see something made by a pretty young lady as opposed to an old Trump anything.
I was referring to the building which is one of the prettiest in Manhattan. That's all. Gezzz everyone is so touchy
Am thoroughly enjoying watching this build. The club is neat, now I am looking forward to bowlers and all those accoutrements! Keep up the good work!
