Does anyone have information on the ACE (Altamont Commuter Express) locomotive and rolling stock information Brad
Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) uses F40PH-3C's, numbered 3101-3105. These locomotives are from Boise Locomotive Works (the old Morrison-Knudsen), and are rebuilt/remanufactured F40PH's. They are a little longer than the standard F40, due to having a separate HEP generator installed. As for the passenger cars, they bought 8 new from Bombardier, and have leased 4 more from Tri Rail in Miami. ACE is currently negotiating with track owner UP for a third train. The cars for this train have been ordered, and are dur for delivery from Bombardier sometime this summer. [This message has been edited by Interwest (edited 20 January 2001).]

More info- 7 more cars are arriving from Bombardier. These cars, believe it or not, are from Sounder's order. As Sounder does not need the coaches right now, the order was transferred to ACE. From what I understand, the cars were hurriedly repainted from Sounder's scheme into ACE colors before being released from Thunder Bay.
