Long missing from the N scale scene have been Osgood Bradley American Flyer passenger cars used by the B&M, NH, BAR, and others. Made with American Limited core car kits and sides produced by a friend (with a little help with research and cheering on from me), I have been working on a fleet of them for my pike. When I get up the gumption, I'll tackle the grabs!
Dick, absolutely beautiful ! I know a certain NH fan that will go nuts when he sees them. The "American Flyer" passenger cars are his favorites, and he has also said many times that he wished they were available in N scale. Do you have any plans for producing them commercially? If so, please keep us posted. Thanks, Bill
Bill, thanks for the kudos. The sides are now available. If you or your NH fan friend are interested, please contact me off line.
Thanks, Boxcab. They were called "American Flyer" cars because A. C. Gilbert patterned a line of O gauge passenger cars after them. They picked up the name and it stuck.
The southern Maine division of the Osgood Bradley shops are still working! NH car with skirting removed. Dick
