The biggest show in New England (the US?) by far is the Amherst Railway Society Railroad Hobby Show, held this year on Jan 26 and 27. It fills four buildings at the Eastern States Exposition Center fairgrounds in West Springfield, MA, about 90 minutes west of Boston. As always, I had a great time at the show. Some highlights: The fantastic layout by the Central New York Modelers in HO-scale. The Four County Society of Model Engineers modular HO-scale layout Popular Narragansett Bay Railway and Navigation Company, an On30 free-modular layout. The Dirty Thirty On30 Module Gang, with their detailed and weathered On30 layout The Paper Creek Nn3 narrow gauge layout. The Dry Hill Model Railroad Club modular HO-scale layout "Dry Hill Terminal" The incredible F scale Chester and Becket Railroad Many thanks to the exhibitors and club members who took the time to chat about their layouts and show off their craftsmanship. A full set of 1500 photos from the show is available on my Flickr album: >> 2019 Amherst Train Show << Photos are available at full resolution so you may zoom in and see the smallest of details on these wonderful models. The level of detail can be quite surprising, even on elements of the model that are not meant to be seen. As always, I hope you get the chance to visit this amazing show in person. (Plenty of photos available if you were unable to attend this year). Mike
Ken, it was fabulous when I was there in '04. I plan to go back next year. Though I refuse to buy snow tires, which aren't even sold in Mississippi. LOL
Great! We will be looking forward to scads of photos and videos from your visit of this show, and more!
