When ordering a diesel, I will want scale appearance. If I specify scale wheels, does this automatically guarantee that the unit is DC powered? Or must I also note for DC?

If you are ordering direct, you will be able to get scale wheels and DC. The SW-1 I bought from the LHS was set up to run on AC, but the DC plug was provided to convert it straight DC. I haven't changed it yet, since it runs on DC and behaves like an AC unit. The other SHS F units I ordered already had the DC plug in them and ran like your normal DC unit. All the AM engines can be orded with scale wheels and DC. The web sites spell it out very nice for what you can order. Are we taking the plung Boxcab? :D

    Greg-

Thanks for the clarification. I just wanted to be as certain as possible. I had looked at an AM GP9 on eBay about a week ago. And had e-mailed the seller, but received no courtesy of reply. (Someone I'd seen selling S scale stuff previously.) So did not bid. (Their loss of $$.) Their description was very unclear. Apparently they assumed everyone would know.

The "Plunge?" :D Well, I subscribed to S/Sn3 Modeler this morning. Does that qualify? [IMG]

Well you got your toes in the water testing the tempurature. So I guess you could say you are starting the plunge. :D
