Jeff - Nah, we mountain biked up to the photo spot from Woodford ! Good to see you over here on Trainboard!
A few years ago a friend stopped on highway 58 to photograph a train and was approached by a policeman to say he could not stop there, and what was he doing? When he explained he wanted to photograph trains, the officer heard his English accent, and said that there was a much better place - "follow me". He led him to the loop
Heres some SP for you. An SP West Colton CA. bound manifest meets the hot Pacific Coast Expiditer, bound for Portland, OR. at Walong siding. The meet is unusual as the heavy drag has held the Main Track, while the Dispatcher has put the hotter intermodal in the hole, although most downhill trains do take the siding when meeting uphill trains. Brian
Brian, Those last five shots are just fantastic!Show us more of 'The Loop'!!!!I take it it's N scale? & is that a new LL GP60 on the head of that intermodal train?Awsome!!
N Scale, Yes, Life Like GP60, no. See this thread with my kitbashed GP60's. http://www.trainboard.com/ultimatebb.php/ubb/get_topic/f/9/t/004653.html Brian
Brian, The pics and layout are fantastic, you must also post to this famous topic Photographs of N scale Unit Trains
Excellent SP as well. You can hand those Oregon lumber loads off to Dave or me, we'll get em over the hill and to market for you. By the way, I am on dial up, uploading pictures is painfully slow but worth the effort. Brian
Great shots Brian and Jeff. Yep, in about 18 hours or so that lumber drag will be out of the Oregon forests and winding it's way around Tehachapi Loop ! Seeing all of this SP action is awesome!! Keep it coming gang!
Hi, all, Yes, great shots, all! I have always loved the look of the SP Black Widow paint on the SD7/SD9. Here's an SP SD7 quartet on the point of a mid-1950s SP freight drag:
And if it is an AC4400 I would love to see some more pictures of it. Here is mine, It is ready for paint but my decals have been on order since before Thanksgiving. I ordered several decal sets the same day, all but my AC4400 decals came in. I should have went directly to Microscale. [ 31. January 2005, 09:08: Message edited by: brian ]
Nope. It's just an SP Dash 8. . . . No AC4400's on the roster yet on my layout. . . Brian - that's looking great so far. Keep us posted. And finish it up soon, as that will guarantee that Kato will announce the AC4400 in SP
LOVE SP! Those look exceptional. Any hints on where to get some SP Dash 9's or any SP's for that matter?
