Other than the Amtrak propaganda, is there a place I can get a breakdown on typical consists and arrangement for Amtrak Superliner (and other) trains? I'd like to know the number and order for:

baggage

coach

sleepers and sleeper combinations

dorms

diner

lounge

mail handeling cars

road-railers
    [/list]
    Thanks,
    Ed Harrison

I believe each train has a different standard consist. I can speak from experince that the Cardinal runs (or at least ran last July) with two P42's, a Heritage baggage, transition sleeper, Superliner sleeper, Superliner diner, Superliner lounge, and three Superliner coaches (one smoking, one handicap accessible, and one of unknown design). On the return trip there was an extra coach that was chartered by a group of teachers going to Montana. When I was on the Pennsylvanian two months ago it had two P42's, about a doezn MHC's and boxcars (the exact number varies from day to day), an Amfleet snack coach, an Amfleet II coach for people traveling the whole length of the train, two Horizon coaches for people boarding/leaving somewhere along the trip, and a dozen Roadrailers (again, the quantity varies from day to day base upon the amount of cargo to be carried).
