The picture: Chicago & Eastern Illinis 3153, an early production SD 40-2, helps a Missouri Pacific coal train roll past Peck Mine in Colorado on its way to the power plant in Labadie, Illinois.

The model: a Kato SD 40-2. The model has had lift rings, sunshades, arm rests, windshield wipers, mu hoses and a bell added using parts from Detail Associates, Gold Medal Models and JnJ. It was painted using ModelFlex paints in a Testors ModelMaster airbrush and decalled with MicroScale decals and ShellScale number boards.

The scene: the train is posed on the Peck Mine module, built and owned by Mike Peck. The module is part of the display layout of the Pikes Peak "N" Gineers of Colorado Springs.

I bet ol' makinbaconline will love this one! He's a big MoPac Fan! It looks great, but do you have another photo of it? It's kind of hidden by the structure in front of it and it appears a little dark on my computer. [IMG] But it has to be a great model because it looks super despite all the photo problems. [IMG]

Nice model! I'm getting very impressed with what can be done with N gauge these days ... or is it just the raw talent that exists out there? I doubt that I could ever make one look as good. [IMG]

Thanks for your entry. Good luck.

Our contest ends April 30. We will announce our "winner" within a few days following. A reminder that the contest is not as much about winning or losing as it is just to see these wonderful works that all of you have created. Our Moderators will be the judges and will attempt to judge based on the photos but not on the actual quality or size of the individual photo.
