I saw this picture on the egroups/carolinarails file: Anyone know anything about the company/#units/types of units/etc.? Harold ------------------ Harold Hodnett Fan of NS, CSX, and their predecessors! Coming soon: The North Carolina Railfan Web Site http://www.trainweb.org/ncrail/

That just could be the new CEFX scheme. If you could get reporting marks, that would confirm it. 3072 originally had GCFX marks, and was in primer. It could have been repainted, we'll have to see. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society, NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W
Here's the info on the above unit. It was painted by Alstom for the RSA show in Chicago, numbered 2000. It was then released into the GCFX pool (has GCFX marks) as 3072. Just one oddball among the group. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society, NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W
Man CSX must really be short on power where are the CSX engines?? :yikes: I saw a black HCLX U boat # 3081?? with Norfolk southern SD80MAC (ex-con) and CSX 2660 ------------------ TrainBoard.com MEMBER#204 THE WEB PAGE IS NOW UPDATED!! CSX has been power short for some time now. First it was borrowed Western power, then, last February, the first FURX units started to arrive. Now there are over 120 SD40-3 rebuilds on the property with more coming. Then they retired a ton of GP38s, GP40s and B23-7s, and traded some in to LLPX for 25 SD70Ms and 3 GP60s. So in the short, they are short of power. The SD40-3s will help (three year lease as far as I know) but CSX needs to buy some more new power. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society, NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W
yea like more SD70MACs , or GP60s. I don't think CSX cares too much for the SD80MACs or other wise they would have ordered some. CSX ought to send some old units for rebuilding or something, or buy out FURX, and what ever else , ------------------ TrainBoard.com MEMBER#204 THE WEB PAGE IS NOW UPDATED!!
