One more photo from "Highland Crossing" in northern Kentucky on the NS mainline near Cincinnati, Ohio. I don't have a flashgun; the parking lot I shoot from has ample flood-lighting that illuminates the trains. The only catch is that I have to wait until a northbound train stops here which occurs when Gest Street Yard can't accept any more trains. At least one train must be stopped at Ludlow (south bank of the Ohio River) for trains to stop at this location.
You are very lucky to find a place like this to take these great photos. I presume you use a tripod but what settings do you use on your camera? You say the train must stop so the speed setting must be fairly slow. Share this with us if you will.
Thats a great photo Jeff . I am a Engineer and I am starting to take pictures at work but it's hard for me to take pictures at work because 80% of the time I work when it's dark outside . BUT you have some good night pictures , good job
