While recently visiting my inlaws,I had a conversation with their Pastor about model railroading. The next day he showed up with a pre-fabricated layout. The pieces are molded in plastic and marked American Flyer on them. They have scenic features molded in and can be connected in several different configurations.I searched online to no avail, including 45 pages of e-bay on dial up,I deserve a medal for that!:teeth: .He said he thinks he got this in the early '60's,any idea on what this might be?Thank you in advance for any help on this. The next time i visit I will try to get some pictures of some of the pieces.

I remember those, about 2'x2' square. The track was already on them, not loose like the old stuff. The engine was real cheap but the cars were ok. AF was in its death thralls so to speak. I've heard of them referred to but only have seen the one we bought at a garage sale in the mid 70's. I don't think they are too valuable or collectable, compared to the better AF equipment but they made a reasonable layout fast. Other than what I remember from that one layout, I can't give you much more info.

I remember those sets. Thought they looked neat in catalog photos. Wasn't a bad idea. Seems like they were made about 1960-1965?

    Pre-fab Flyer

Those were "Pike-Master" sets. There are several members over on the Yahoo S-Trains group that collect them. Give than a shout and they can tell you what they may be worth.

    Gary-

    Congrats on your first post!

Pike Master.... Anyone have an old AF catalog? Which would show all the various pieces which were available?
