    Hello all,

Long time lurker, occasional poster here. I've been wanting to model the Alaska Railroad in Z scale for awhile now, and I know a few other people are interested in the ARR as well. I've been a member of the Yahoo group for awhile.

I'm not sure if I can do artwork for decals, but if somebody else did so, I'd gladly contribute to the cause.

Currently my roster consists of a pair of MTL F7A's, a van and a couple assorted freight cars. I've got plans for a 4'X2.5' test layout and I'm planning to handlay my track.

If anyone's planning, or has done ARR decals in the past, I'd be interested to know as well.

The F7's will be painted in blue and yellow.

    Regards,

This is the 4th request for Alaska RR Decals. First for an F7.

I have both a GP35 and an F7 to model the decals by.

The font for the Santa Fe look-a-like Blue Bonnet scheme will be fairly easy from the photos I have collected.

I will use this message thread to announce when I have finalized the decals. Takes some trial and error to get them the right size or at least close to the right size!

I will be making the "ALASKA" and the "ARR" logo for locomotives and the "ALASKA" for a caboose. I have found two versions for cabooses plus a Bi-Centenial paint scheme.

As for any rolling stock, I have not yet combed the net for rollingstock ARR photos. If you have any, please email them to me. send to
    sgt_tim1@yahoo.com

You can get in touch with me thru the Contact page on my website, http://www.tnt-z.com

    Have a great day!

    Tim,

John Combs has tons of photos on his site at www.alaskarails.org There are pictures of the F-units in all 5 paint schemes, including the Bi-centennial one.

Hope this helps, and I'm looking forward to this :D I've got a pair of F7's and a GP38-2 that need decals [IMG]

Any plans for the black and yellow freight scheme as seen on the GP30 and originally on the 35's?

    Regards,
    Dan M.

By the way, FR has F40PH's as well if you want to use one for an ARR cab car.

How much different are the SD70M and the SD70MAC? Do they have a different wheelbase or is there just a little more hood added on on the back?
