Anyone ever add casters to their portable layout this way?

Nice concept plus the added ability of storage. Could the very top portion just below the key hole or lock be made into a slide out work table? Only recently have I been flirting with the idea of a roll out work table that stores under the layout and saves space. You have brought the idea back to the front of my mind again.

How are you going to get the tool box in and out of your vehicle without laying it down? I can picture things flopping around in the deep drawers.

None of my tool boxes have ever rolled decently enough. One of the swinging casters will always find a way to bind up.... But I certainly like the idea.

I have a rolling work bench that slides under my layout nicely. We had an old microwave stand we were getting rid of so I snagged it and is now my work stand on wheels. :)

I really like the idea of using the toolbox on wheels. All those drawers will be great for storing your locomotives and rolling stock.
