Atheran put out a Harriman coach a while back. It does nor have what appears to be roof vents, but looks quite similar to your photos. I have a couple that I picked up many years ago. Can send a photos later if you want.

Would like to see them montanan. Point353 look really good, but definitely out of my price range these days. I'm definitely on a retiree's limited budget.

Thank you both for your input.

I'll take some photos later and get them to you tomorrow. The Harriman cars have the rounded tops and you could add what looks like rood vents to them.

A more accurate model was already suggested, but you said that was too expensive.
The Athearn model is about half the price, but you say it's not close enough.
How good is "good enough" and what is your budget limit?

Here's the Atheran Harriman passenger car. The trucks were replaced with sprung Central Valley trucks. The reason I did that was just because I had several sets hanging around. I did check the Athearn web site and they may no longer be available as I could not find them. A search on ebay may find some. I did these cars over 25 years ago.

Been debating with myself as to what to say about what I'm looking for. First, I cannot, with my limited retirement income, afford a $90 car that would then require additional funds to supply chassis and undercarriage, plus detailing parts. The options then become less CRIP commuter prototypical assuming I can even find the Athearn, MDC, etc. cars. I would like to have at least two cars for simplistic consist. My best bet seems to be trying to find 4 inexpensive Athearn coaches at a train show or on e-bay (though none seem available now) to piece together for 2 longer cars, cut out the entire window area and put in relatively narrow posts so as to have a 25 window per side car. Make or find roof vents and cut out the doors for open vestibules. A lot of work, but probably worth it.

montanan, thanks for the effort in showing me your pics and Point353, I hope this explains what I'm looking for and thanks for your suggestions.
