...are there any drills smaller than #80 ?

    also to detail a nscale engine with BLMAs grab irons the #80 drill is too big. to detail a Z scale engine the holes are looking way too big, are there any smaller drills available ? if so, where ? thank you for your help.

    I just googled around and did not find any bits for sale smaller than #80. I did find some websites that said that bits smaller than #80 were available as specialty items, but no other information was given.

    I think you need to know what specialty they are used in, then you could search. Perhaps micro-electronics or some medical use? Aviation? I couldn't find them.

    [edit] diamond drills go down to .001 inches; that's a scale .16 inches in N scale; .22 inches in Z scale.

    You can go to a Dental supply company and ask for #1/2 round burs. That bur is much smaller than a #80 bit.
