Recently Dottie and I were in Phoenix for the Holidays with her family and I went to 3 different club layouts while we were there. I went to Arizona Model RR Society's N and HO layouts twice and have posted pictures of the N Scale layout here...

I'm N myself but took a number of pictures of their HO layout on my second visit. Here are a few.

I have over 30 pictures in total of this really nice layout here...

Also they were running a 47 car and a 68 car train while I was there and I shot these two videos...

Both of their layouts are really nice and I'd encourage anyone visiting the Phoenix area to plan a visit. Over time I'll get pictures up of the other two layouts I also visited,

That is quite some spread, from FRED to Tsunami Sound. I don't get out to Phoenix that often, but will be sure to take a look when I do.

Of great interest to me is how these mega club layouts are managed. Here in El Paso a monthly due of $20 is thought to be a little pricey for the neighborhood, while in places like Medford, New Jersey, monthly dues are $40 a month plus regular assessments for projects. This Arizona Club
seems to have a strong focus on time and place, while the El Paso Club, by comparison is a patchwork quilt of time and place. Also of note, is that the
track work was laid with considerable aforesight.

Thank you for posting these interesting videos.

I see they run 'em a little different down that way. Up here in Wisconsin they have two engines out front then every 20 cars there's another engine with one bringing up the rear and usually running backwards.
That also spreads the noise out farther.
