Got the 2nd one I ordered, it is one with the capacitor on it. I will probably remove it. Dunno. I really don't think it needs it for what we do with them. But, it runs quieter, and even smoother than the 1st one. So, all and all, I paid $60 for two dang nice running compressors. Next, I will be mounting this 2nd one on a 1 gallon pancake tank. It will make a nice portable additional to my big garage unit.
I just got mine too. No Cap and it does squeal, but only until pressurized. I’ve heard of this before with oil less piston type compressors. I can’t remember exactly why, but I believe it had something to do with worn piston slop. The piston centers itself under pressure. For the money and free shipping, I'm more than happy.
Check Harbor Freight Tools if you have one near you. very cool deals. I bought an air compressoer for $89. but its good enough for household jobs. I textured and painted my trainroom with it, and powers airbrush too!
Thanks for the tip on the compressor. Mine arrived today--paper label, no capacitor, no squeal. I will use this for an air brush and have noob questions. What model/type regulator and filter should I get and is the thread size 'standard'? Thanks for the help. Scott
Thead size is standard for this size air compressors. 3/8" I "think". Please confirm that size tho. Use a small mini regulator, they can be found pretty cheap. There is a decent one listed somewhere up inthis thread that somebody uses from Harbor Freight. You can ger a seperator that is small and fits it there too I am sure.
