I am considering buying a prefab helix which the materials used are gator board. In the demonstration video, the track used was a prefab sectional curve track on a base, Atlas code 83 in this case, with 22 inch radius. (the demonstration was to prove what could and couldn't run up a helix of small radius size. However, these prefab helix kits are offered in larger radius up to 36" inches which would facilitate long rolling stock much better.

I have space for a 34" helix and have learned that Bachmann makes prefab curves in radius of 33.25 which is about as close to my target radius as available in prefab. WHile I have not read good things about Bachmann EZ track turnouts, does anyone have experience with the ordinary curved track? Is it decent enough to use in a helix?

I've spoken with the vender and it looks more likely that I'll be going with flex track. /solved.
