Even though I got started late afternoon, and found it was colder than expected....... I was able to get the last of my mainline track cut to fit! I just have one turnout that needs to be replaced with a CTF section of curve. Depending on what happens, as far as a Krauss Maffei print that I'm STILL waiting for........I might try to replace the one turnout. Once that's done, I can start the ballasting/leveling process. Next thing I need to do, is find an autoreverser for my reverse loop section of track. And maybe double check on turnout heater pads, that should help keep the snow from jamming my switches. May have to do some major rebuilding come spring/summer though!! Where my drainage channel is, the blocks are sinking! In the wrong directions!! My curves are super elevated, to the outside of the curve!! So, a rebuild will be required come spring/summer. Not too bad, but it will need to addresses eventually!!
Interestingly, I've got problems with blocks being pushed UP, in a couple of other places. And I think this is from tree roots working their way back to the surface! Personally, I'd love to remove/replace the tree in front!! Root system is one that stays at the surface, instead of growing deep. So, the block problems are probably related to the tree. Don't think the folks would appreciate the tree being removed though!! Will just have to work around it I guess.
I'm sure it's possible. But then, I either have buy/build a bridge. Then realign my tracks! Probably way more work than necessary.
