we left. as sun sets, we raced on to Ubon we hit Kantharrom to set some pax off. The light isn't enough for me to take more photo so, this blurry shaky shot concludes the photo part of this trip report. We finally arrive at Ubon Ratchathani around 1900 and as I headed off the station I heard an annoucement advising the passenger of train 140 to wait for coach cleaning crews finishing their tasks first. What a rush.
05 June 2007 Sophon. Thanks for posting the photos. I have been in the Bangkok terminal and the Ubon station, however did not ride the train between the two points. It may have been many years since I was in Thailand (Vietnam War), but the scenes look the same. This September, it will be 32 years since I retired from the US Air Force. Larry @ SCRS
Sopon, as usual your travels are so vividly illustrated. Excellent! How long was the whole trip? There were so many stations!
What's the present status of these? Looks like they were already there when I rode the train from BKK to Ayuthaya 7 months ago.:teeth: Dom
Those boxcar's fate are "destination unknown". Even SRT's employee don't know their fate. I guess they will meet "the plasma cutter" or "Being used as a shed":worried:
Wow cool stuff. Very euro looking, like maybe they buy surplus trains from the EU. Looks like you have some awesome memories of this trip. Thanks for sharing.
