Last night I went to the basement to get my Kodak slide projector to look at some Conrail slides from 18 years ago...something I haven't done in years. Well I figure it is dusty and needs a good spraying with the ol' pressurized dust can. I made the mistake of tipping the can while the projector was on...then KAAA BOOOOMMM! I had a mini explosion in my dining room and the smell of burnt hair filled the room. Note to self...turn off the projector and don't turn the spray can upside down! My biggest fear was a shattered light bulb but it hung in there...It was a jolt!!
:tb-shocked: Bummer! It stinks to loose equipment. On the positive side I'm glad to see that you survived. Ben

Yikes! I keep my projector tightly bundled in it's box. So there's rarely any dust. Also, I keep a spare bulb handy. Boxcab E50
I'll bet that woke you up! I recently sold the old projector, and am in the middle of scanning some 600 slides into my computer.
Wow, You are pretty lucky that you were not seriously injured. That would have scared the hell out of me!! Things to think about. Who would think that such a fun hobby could have safety concerns. But there is the possibility to get cut, burned, or get something in your eye.
