    Yes, use cigarette filter fibers. Cut the filter to about 6 to 8 scale foot lengths. Peal back about 1/8" of filter paper from the clean end, and separate the fiber ends. Dip the ends in a pale whitish thinned paint or dye and allow to dry.

    This will provide the "body" to represent the "brush" of the grass. Roll the filter between your fingers to break up the fibers that do stick together.

    Dip the other ends in pale tan (dry wheat color) ink and allow to dry. Remove the rest of the filter paper tube, separate the fibers, and glue small stands in clumps like most Pampas grass grows. It will pass even for photos if not too close up. Try it on scrap wood, it looks better than it sounds.
