    All,

What have you found to be the best screws for attaching MTL trucks to car bodies?

I’m only using the plastic bolster pins that were originally designed for them.

However, it might be nice to have a
screw of some sort that one could adjust the pressure on the trucks. I do notice they like to be a little bit looser, and I get better rolling results.

A 1.4mm diameter x 3mm long washer head just like used on the Rokuhan Shorty, but I don't have a source for them yet.

The main issue, is the hole in the car you are threading into and the hole in the truck are not the same. And I'm personally opposed to drilling the hole in the car that big. What is needed is a shouldered screw as rray suggests. The screws you show would work, but the trucks would be very sloppy on the screws.

So, what is the issue? Bolster Pin falling out?

those Truss-heads could work (I have some for the AZL loco DCC boards). About an hour from now, I can check which one.

NOTE: the Truck’s bolster hole goes outside the chassis’s Post. The screw’s threads might extrude the Post, making larger, adding rotation friction.

I have to attach MTL trucks to the undercarriage of a Shapeways printed passenger car and bolster pins will not work, so I need to screw them on to the undercarriage.

    John,
Are you interested in creating your own shoulder screws?
What if you took a brass mm screw and soldered a section of tube over the treaded section, leaving a part of the threads sticking out?
    Just a thought.

Good idea Scott, but too much work for 6 passenger cars.

John, what passenger cars did you buy? I've bought several sets on Shapeways and they always had provisions for the bolster pins.

I went ahead and ordered that set because it's cheap enough and will be handy for other things too. I can laser cut some .006" thick mylar washers t use with them and see how they do.
