OK GUYS! I'm just throwing this idea out there to see what you think about it. Here is the idea... I'd like to do a bunch of BN 50' Boxcars to sell to the group. This would be a custom group of cars and each car would be made by order. I'll group together about 5 to 8 different prototypes you can choose from and I'll match that prototype for you. You could even pick things like Glossy paint vs Flat. These cars would come with custom scratch built doors that would open just like the MT cars! The current price for MT boxcars is $24 dollars so I'm going to ask for about $35 per car. That price might go up or down as things come together. Still, I'm asking for about $10 bucks in return for hours of work. If this generates enough interest I'll make a prototype for you all to see and start taking down orders. For now just give me an idea of how many you would want and what version! Ok, I'm getting a few PMs as well. Right now there is interest for 8 cars to be built. If I get interest in 15 cars, this will go green and I'll start taking orders. :thumbs_up:

I'll start building these cars before Christmas. I have room for 4 more cars to be ordered and then the list comes to a close. I'll post progress photos here for every one to enjoy. I'll start once the boxcars get here in the mail, but from what I understand, there's a bad storm on the east coast slowing down shipments.
One car left!!! If you do want to make a order of multiple cars, I will allow for an over flow car or two, but after this spot is filled I'm calling the list closed. :tb-biggrin: Sorry guys I can only do so many cars at a time. Hey guys. I just wanted to update you all on the cars. First off let me start by saying the list is closed. Also I wanted to say I'm sorry for the delay. I ordered the cars with some other items and the dealer held the cars to ship the complete order. This ended up taking about a month. In no way am I upset with the dealer, in fact I feel saving money and boxes is the first way to go, but in the future when I am making cars for people in the future I will order the products alone or wait till I have everything in stock before I start. Now with that said... all the boxcars got here and right away I pulled them apart and stripped them today. :tb-biggrin: I'll start building the new doors and weather the frames & trucks tonight. I hope to start modifing the cars tomorrow.
Important Action Needed! I forgot to ask if any of you who are not having your car weathered... if you want your car(s) painted in Original BN green. Those who do not reply in the next day or so will have their cars painted in the "minty" BN Green with the rest of the group. If you do not know what these colors look like. Check the first post and look at the photos. Minty green is the over all body color, while the doors are "Fresh" or "Original" green.
Wow it's a ghost town here... my 8th post in a row. Update!!! Frames Finished & Weathered. Trucks and Couplers Finished & Weathered. Cars with no Logo are painted and glossed. Cars with small Logo are painted and glossed. Seico cars are on hold. (These go last) Doors are being built. I had to change the design... the doors may not be able to slide, but I won't know till the very end. Each door is scratch built and takes a long time to complete. I should have photos of the decaled cars by the weekend. :tb-biggrin: Thanks again.

I'll be painting and weathering roofs soon. Those who are paying for heavy weathering will have a mostly solid rust roof with some highlited areas. If they choose so they can have a half and half look where the rust is just starting to spread. Those who are paying for light weathering can choose between a clean roof (aluminum) or solid rust. If you need help understanding what roof will fit your needs just PM me with the era you model and I'll help you choose. Please PM me with your choices.
I'm so sorry about that David. I'll have the cars completed soon. When I'm finished I'll get a flat shipping rate add that to the total and start collecting money from everybody.
