Has anyone heard how the AC's are doing in their test situations. I am kinda of wondering if BNSF will add an order for even more of them. ------------------ Keep on railroad'n
Other users seem to like them, but BNSF is sorta settled on SD70MAC's, so I wonder if they will go for another type of AC unit. Time will tell ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com Andersley Western Railroad Alan's American Gallery
3 lonely little ACs... Well maybe not so little! Only time will tell but i kind of doubt it. I read somewhere that BNSF was interested in the SD89MAC which is 4500 hp and AC so...
I figured since BNSF is buying a mother load of it's little brother the dash 9. and BNSF is favorable to GE. Outside of the order of SD70MAC's they would buy at least a trial order of them(50). Although it would nice to see a SD90MAC in BNSF colors. ------------------ Keep on railroad'n [This message has been edited by Jack Doran (edited 30 August 2000).] [This message has been edited by Jack Doran (edited 30 August 2000).]

Hey Tunnell 88, Nothing said I couldn't wish for more. Granted though an SD89MAC would be spectacular also. ------------------ Keep on railroad'n [This message has been edited by Jack Doran (edited 31 August 2000).]
I could see BNSF buying some SD89MACs because they have had great sucsess from there SD70MACs, so there familer with EMD AC locos, where they only have 3 AC44 things. I hear that one of the main reasons the railroads are buying loads of GE's is because they offer a great mantinance program, I also here that they need them! Kevin
I keep saying SD89MAC because it uses the same carbody as the 90MAC(not sure if its the Phase 1 0r 2- I hope it's not the 2! ) so an SD89MAC would look the same... [This message has been edited by tunnel88 (edited 31 August 2000).]
The SD89 uses the Phase II body. But yes I think it would look good in HII. ------------------ Theres no such thing as having to many coal hoppers or GP40-2 when you model Chessie System LONG LIVE THE KITTEN!!! LONG LIVE BIG BLUE!!! I looked at DCC... and stayed DC!
With that slab cab no paint job would look good... I absolutely hate the GM people over that sickening result- I hope it doesn't get that cab. I don't see what the benefits would be. So it has the same glass as a GE. Big deal, BNSF has enough GM wide cabs why would they try to stock one less type?
