All right railfans!! Sept 22nd and 23rd come on out and catch the Zephyr!! IRM's Zephyr set is going to leave CUS at 9 am and head for Galesburg. After a stop there it will be down the Brookfield Sub to Quincy wye and return! It will be back at CUS at 7 pm and do the same thing on Sunday.

After looking at the schedule its going to run Amtrak Speed! So if you want to catch this old gal roaring along the Mendota Sub or Brookfiled Sub then this is for you. This will be the first revenue run to Galesburg she has had since retired in 1968.

If you do go get pics ( Jim Wiggin I am looking in your Direction) please feel free to post them here!

Saw it when Mom and I stopped at IRM on the way home from Wisconsin
several years ago. Only wish I had the time/money to make the trip out that way!
Pictures and/or video would be great!
Good luck to those who chase, and catch!

If the set is intact, that very engine will be leading.

Not to worry, Jess the Railfan Jeep and I will be trackside to photograph this event. Check out the link below.

I read this on Facebook and marked my calendar. A chance to photograph the last E5A in existence on former CB&Q track is a once in a life time thing. Pray for great weather!

My Railfan buddy from Bloomington called me Saturday. I'm going through my CB&Q books that feature the stretch of track she'll be running on so I can hopefully plan and get some shots with CB&Q equipment such as signals and stations, maybe even an old wooden over pass. Just a few more days...

Princeton Il has a good station, Better yet get down to Bushnell! Hope Jess is a smidge faster than my old girl. cause I know chasing this would be a job for the Girls Cherokee! Big V8 in that monster.

Well Jess and I were successful!

Caught the Zephyr here just outside of St. Augustine Illinois doing around 70. I have more that came out ok, I'll post more as time allows, but for now, this one with the trademark CB&Q wooden overpass is my favorite.
