Another weekend, another bit of progress. The lumber yard is beginning to take shape, road was extended a couple more feet and the gravel road to the church is about complete.
Definitely going to add some interior features to the shops, just have that on the back burner right now. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Some pics of tonight's progress. Finished our road through the layout and sanded the road that was already dried To prep for painting. Three generations working on the layout, with the little man running the vacuum at 22 months old while Gigi holds him for me and Pawpaw takes the picture. Last pics show our first attempt at ground goop with the application of ground cover to finish it around the edge of the yard. Overall very pleased with the result and excited to do more soon.
Weekend update - my dad is doing lots of ground goop work while I build structures at my house. We spent some time together today finishing the road and getting a drainage pipe under our grade crossing. Got some paint on the town street and can't wait to see how it all dries so we can put down some lines and markings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Added some new power to our layout today compliments of family Christmas gift cards. Can't wait to run this heritage unit later this week.
The latest structure nearing completion for the layout. Probably wrap it up this weekend plus a little weathering and it will be ready to go. Love this kit! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The farm scene is starting to take shape. Here's a quick video of the newest locomotive in my collection making its way behind the farm. Detail time now!
Quick update of a small yard building that I've been working on the last few nights. Not sure about the window trim paint scheme...
Spent the snow day applying lots of ground goop to continue bringing the farm scene to life. Pleased with the progress, but there just aren't enough hours in the day.
Lots of progress lately on the Jamestown Layout. Farm scene comes to life with hay bales and lots of gravel and ground goop applied around some of our structures. .
looking great i am enjoying seeing your progress, I do have a suggestion, try and blend the grass and weeds into the ballast so the layout looks more blended between track and landscape
Appreciate the suggestion Colonel. We have a wealth of honey suckle in our area so we plan to surround the ballast with the bushes to help blend it. Just haven't gotten to that step yet. So much to do and so little time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
