I got my hands on a few Union Pacific Railroad Company - Layout Plans for No. 20 Main Line Turnout And Cross-Over (Rev. July 1, 1985) drawings and decided to scale them down and build one in N scale. The plans call for dual throwbars, but I only built one. It works fine with just one throwbar, because I'm not having to move hundreds of pounds of steel rail!

    Boy are they big!

This one is ready for paint...

I am not going to stock these, but can supply them as a custom job...

Wow, is that a big boy or what? Wouldn't that look great on a layout!

The third PC board tie in from the throwbar (towards the frog) is a double PC tie. Is that where all the rails are soldered down from that point on? In essence that's the pivot point?

    Cool turnout Mythman.

WOW! That would be a nice high-speed turnout! You could do track speed right into the siding!

That is long! Even on my 23-foot straightaways, I'd have trouble fitting them in. Even No. 10s are giving me a bit of a fit as I plan crossovers.

Incredible work! Perhaps I should plan my layout extension barn at 40 x 10 rather than 20 x 20?

I'm working on a C40 #20 crossover right now... It's gonna be 32" long. And that is with prototypical 13'-0" (0.975") track centers.

The real kicker is the 76 23'-0" ties, that I am having to hand cut. ME only sells upto 16'-0" turnout ties. In real life that is a small forest of trees, just for one crossover!
