    =================================

    They must take periodic re-certification trips
    over the territories they dispatch. Generally they will cab-ride with crews they like or who are their friends. I met several of our dispatchers that way. The main dispatch
    center for the BNSF is in Ft.Worth TX

    Your dispatcher sounds just like ours here in Arkansas. I guess there all the same! The west end run from North littlerock to VanBuren is pretty much a slow order the whole way. Plenty of form B's, plus it's TWC territory so you get plenty of time on the radio with dispatch. You always wonder what kind of mood there in before you call!

    I actually had a dispatcher take pity on me once. I was still a "newbie" brakeman/switchman and was working a transfer job bringing a train from the BRC to the departure yard at Cicero on the BNSF. We had a waycar on this particular run and that is where I was positioned.(in the event we had
    to shove back). Well it was in the winter, WX was cold and dry and about 9PM. It seems that the fire went out in the waycar stove since it had run out of fuel oil. Well lemme tell ya that those things are as cold as coffins without the heater on. We were being held on the main by the BRC and the clock was ticking and I was getting VERY cold! I called the head end,told them my plight and my conductor told me to head forward and warm up. The BRC dispatcher heard the conversation and told our train that the brakeman could stay there ,cuz we were gonna be held for a long time. We eventually got moving,with just enough time to get us to Cicero and then outlaw!
