Oh dear. It happened again. I hate to say this but the media (and critics for that matter) will have a field day with this one. I'm sure that this will not help the current perception of CSX either.
As I wrote in a different forum, I live near Lynchburg, and know that area well. The tracks are in the James river flood plain and roughly 10-15 feet above the normal river level, with all the rain we have gotten over the last week, I would not be surprised if the ground there had shifted and the roadbed sunk enough to cause the derailment Alan
