It is a real shame to repaint those lovely EMD painted locomotives. We saw several in California in '98 and thought they looked great! ------------------ Alan Curtis. Moderator. I agree. I love that red, white, and blue EMD paint scheme, especially on those SD70-M's. Maybe I'll get lucky and see one on a CSX train over in UP's Butler Yard. That's it. three feet of snow or not, I'm going train watching! See y'all later.. ------------------ Drew What's that? A train horn? Sorry, gotta go!

The EMD lease SD70Ms are either maroon, silver, and grey, or solid maroon. Just in case you guys haven't heard, I sent Athearn links to some of the photos of these units patched with CSX numbers, and in full CSX paint. I didn't take the photos myself, but just collected their locations off various web sites. They've since announced that they will be releasing both the patched and full CSX paint schemes on their HO SD70M model. They're great to work with, and I can't wait to see the models! ------------------ Dave Railfanning & modeling modern CSX The MARC Railfan and Modeler Site

If an N scale SD70M is produced, I will definitely have a couple in the maroon, silver and grey scheme. Far better than the solid maroon. ------------------ Alan Curtis. Moderator.
