Was going to post this on the HO thread, but think it applicable to all scales. I want to build some large background buildings representing 20's through 40's construction. I have seen some gorgeous buildings where the facades and maybe a side or 2 were modeled. Most of the large kit buildings are either not available or not suitable for the era. Anyone have any links or book suggestions on how to do this? I have gone to YouTube but mostly see folks building large buildings from acrylics for modern buildings. Some quite good, but not what I'm looking for. I think I have the skills to do a large wooden building, but am primarily interested in large brick or stone buildings. I have several DPM kit buildings on my layout. Of course I could go larger, but there is only so much variety in looks that can be done w/ those. Any suggestions on techniques or resources?
