If the Lunchtime Express is the daily CP local I can give you a heads up when they are by St Louis Park. I see all the action, coming and going, from my window seat. I only have to get up if I want a better picture from the back door. Nancy
Just missed the cutoff for the "Crossings" contest with these two. Couldn't really decide which. The rolling stock shot is arguably a better picture, but the loco shot has, well, a loco in it. This car was in the same train, but I didn't catch the shot until the crossing was out of the frame. I don't condone defacing private property, but that's pretty colorful, and would make a nice "tagged" car on a model.
Dawn in La Junta, Colorado with a ballast spreader parked in the yard. A train load of MOW equipment on a siding in Trinidad, Colorado.
Hi Mark, Thanks for the kind thoughts. Here's a photo for you from the finished CCRR/Northern Division. I'm taking a break, been gone over 4 months. Hopefully I remembered how to post a photo!? Enjoy, Jim CCRR/Socalz44
I'm out of the country right now so I have to use some from the archives - here's a shot of various resin and metal trucks with plastic trailers. This is a Cars-N-Scale resin school bus that I carefully hollowed out and scratch built an interior for. I used a second bus to salvage the hood and doors from. If you look closely you will see someone is escaping from the back of the bus.
Rumania Rail inspecting car. I took this photo a few years ago when I was on vacation in Rumania. I grew up here, as a kid I used to sneak into this station all the time and watch the trains pull in and out of here with my friends.
Yessss! A Cutting Room Floor thread. It's the only place I could imagine where this picture would be appropriate:
This picture was a close contender in the "multiple unit" Contest, but in the end I liked the lower-angle shot better: I am still experimenting with my camera settings for close-up shots... Cheers Dirk
I took this a few months ago before we moved away from Oregon. I think it still works. I'm fairly confidant its a wig-wag. It says it was made by "Magnetic Signal co.-L.A."
Paper Signal Fire Here's a close up of the signal fire from my entry to this week's "Signals" challenge.
One from me from the 2010 contest, I just liked the others better and the angle gives away the wall flat. Hwo many Big Boys do you see in this picture?
Though nothing in the photo is new, the camera that took the picture is. I figured that wouldn't be enough for the contest though. BNSF freight at Mile Post 7
