Hi all - just getting going with DCC-EX base station - how awesome to control the train from the iPhone! - and I'm wondering if I need ANOTHER arduino to control 2-3 turnouts that I'm planning, or can I just some pins from current one acting as base unit? Sorry for the rookie question, but it's kinda hard to search and find the answer - oh and i'm planning on using Kato Unitrack #4's for the turnouts. Please and thanks! Peter
so the answer is you could use the existing for sure with any of the open I/O pins but you will need another motor driver. Personally for how cheap it is I would just get a seperate uno andmotor shield just to keep the code loaded on the basestation pure. one example
