Looking for a DCC/Sound decoder for an original Athearn SD9, with the metal trucks!
An A Line/PPW repower kit is being installed. Just need to attach motor, after getting
wires attached, or decoder installed. Also in need of photos, from all sides, of
Rio Grande SD9 #5305. As that's what I'm hoping to paint it, when I get to that point! After adding additional details! Asked in DCC Forum as well.
    Any help and/or information appreciated.
    Thanks.

I'm aware it's a bit too wide. But, a freebie....I'm not gonna complain!
Still trying to find out if short hood on the 5305 was sloped slightly or
not. Similar to the GP20 nose.

Cool. They are good old locos.
The 5305 was chopped after an incident in Pueblo if I recall correctly. So it did have the tall short hood far a while if you don't want to do the mods.
The GP20's nose has a very noticable taper towards the front, and a window on the cab front is different. Plus a GP20 nose will most likely be the correct width. You might consider just letting that old sleeping dog alone :)

Then, I'll keep it "as is".
Also need to find out if it was delivered in the
yellow/black bumble bee scheme or the black/orange
freight scheme. Was told freight, but want oto double check!
Thanks for the information, so far!
    Much appreciated.

Recieved the information I needed, about decoder for the SD9 project.
Also info on the Soundtrax Keep Alive, Speakers and enclosures.
Now, to get a list together, so I can place an order, after I get paid next!
Should be interesting. Already asked a friend about which sounds I'm going to need.
Might get his comments, if we can get together, and I can show off the basics, for now!
Detailing will come next. That's gonna be the real challenge! For me anyway!
