Now that I've got my D&H Model collection online I thought I would share a few images. If you also have D&H in your collection I would like to obtain images and information for my web site so I can document all the D&H ever built. If you scratch build D&H let's see those images too! Altas#3833-1
Those Sharks look really nice. I have always liked the blue "Warbonnet" scheme. What did the D&H call it? "Blue Bonnet?" Speaking of these units, what ever happened to the prototype ones? Still up in Michigan? Same owner? Sure would be fantastic to see them run again! Boxcab E50
I don't recall right now where they are currently. Now here is a N-Scale MFG you don't see much talk of that created a D&H model. Lima
I'd be interested in a status update on those Sharks. Maybe one of your D&H friends will know. Here is my entire N scale accumulation of D&H rolling stock. These folks make some fine quality cars. Etched brass stirrups and roof walk. Excellent graphics: Boxcab E50
I don't have that one in my collection. Get me some detail and I will add it into the DHVM list of D&H models. Will do on the Sharks! This is what I currently know about them. Previously New York Central #3805 Previously New York Central #1205 Previously Monongahela (MGA) #1205 Received by D&H 1974, Sold 1978 They were later sold to Castolite Inc. of Minneapolis, MN in April 1978.
Darren- The car pictured was part of a two pack made by DeLuxe Innovations. (An N scale only manufacturer located in California.) It was released circa 1999-2000. Two Pack part number was 14100-2. The one cars as pictured. A second had the large shield type herald. Don't know a reporting number, as I did not buy it. You could also buy a single car, which was #14100-1. But I don't know which car came as that issue. There is also currently available, another DI made D&H car! It's number is 14270-1 for a single, 14270-2 for the two pack. Two reporting numbers of the small round "Bridge Line" herald. MSRP $28.70. Boxcab E50
Thanks, I will get this added to my list with the DHVM soon as I hope to document all the D&H models produced with images of them. I have some in my collection that never truly existed in real life but will make nice addtions to a layout some day when I get the time and space to get back to modeling.
If pictures of DI products would help, there is the one I just posted. And their web site usually has quite a few views as well. So also try checking there: http://www.deluxeinnovations.com/ Boxcab e50
If a person wants to do some accurate D&H passenger cars, now would be the time to be buying up some etched brass sides from NKP Car. The C&O coach, diner and lunch counter - lounge are all fairly accurate for the D&H, as is the baggage and baggage - mail. To learn more you can email them at bnsf739@aol.com. Also, Lazer Horizons has lazer cut styrene sides for the former Lackawanna 62-seat coaches, like what the D&H ran in the 70s. You can learn more about these sides by visiting the Desktop Solutions of Pennsylvania site, via the link below: http://merchandise.pennsyrr.com/WS4D_Cookie=10.19.04_15,56,25_225510/ms_laser.html
I've saw someone at GATS many many years ago that did a wonderful job at being 100% pure. Con-Cor has made to Passenger Sets that are nice but not 100% pure for those what to be 100% pure. Here is one from those sets that never existed but still a nice looking car that will have it's place on my layout; whenever I get back to modeling that is.
Kato made a D&H RS-2 I think Atlas made a D&H 90-ton hopper (yellow) Micro-Trains made a D&H 50' standard boxcar (BC red) Sorry, I don't have pictures
MT made a 50' gondola in D&H. I believe I have one in my group. I could dig it out if you would like a photo. Of course, Atlas did the RS-3 in solid blue. I believe back in the eighties they had a limited run of blue-gray D&H units. They recently did an RS-3 with the black with yellow stripes in HO. Hope to see those in N. Frank
Frank- Did BLW do a custom painted RS version? Or is my memory playing tricks on me? Again.... Boxcab E50
