    This is the second time in two years they have had a major problem there. May of 2015 they had to evacuate town because of a crude oil derailment/train collision.

    So are we looking at a serious problem here, such as maintenance? Or just a sad coincidence?

    The news is silent so far. A grain empty was EB as well as a local freight; the local derailed and caught the earthworm in the process. My guess is a broken axle or wheel.

    Good question, the 2015 derailment was due to a problematic switch that failed. I’m sure it will be a while before the findings are released on this derailment.
