In an ideal world my next layout will be in a 10'x10', (or larger), dedicated room. My thought is build it in stages of one 2'X8' 'sections / sheet' at a time. Concept / Parameters Expandable to next section Industrial / Switching Intensive Flat Kato track with #6 and 'Y' turnouts. No Kato #4s Continuous running even if in a loop / oval Includes The yard / yard lead and other parts of Lynn Wescott's 'DTI', (see attachment) Imbedded inglenook. This can be a 'self imposed' limit on use of a yard or industry. Imbedded John Allen's 'Time Saver' Time Frame: Probably 2+ yeaars from now, That is supposedly when we move. I'm just wondering what folks think and if you feel like doing up a concept plan that woudl be great but don't spend too much time on it. ☻ Your ideas? Thoughts? Humor? No wrong responces.
I really like the DTI. I toyed with incorporating it in an 8x8 space once, doughnut style. The idea was to split the DTI into a U-shaped layout, with a continuous loop running around the outside, possibly on elevated terrain. Never really got past the spit-balling phase though. Hope you have better luck.
