Big ALCo thumper! Wish we could still see and hear these. Such as the old SP&S C636 power. Those were the days!

BoxcabE50, there are some big Alcos left in the northeast. No C628s, but two preserved C630s: a NW one that doesn't run and a Reading one that does. Some C636s and M636s are still in revenue service. One of each on the Delaware-Lackawanna - an almost-all-Alco line in 2005! Until recently, the Quebec Cartier Railway had two C636s (both ex-Alco demonstrators) and six M636s. Three of the M636s are now owned by a leasing company and run by the New York, Susquehanna & Western. They're still in QCR black and red.

I have the N scale Atlas models of the C628 and C630. I really like the big ones. Big thumper is right. The C636 is even bigger! [IMG] MU lashups make it even better.
