I just bought a 4 Mpixel camera last weekend.
I wanted good optics for models, and chose the Olympus 765 because it has a Super Macro mode where you can be 1/2" away and be in focus.

It has a 10X Optical zoom too, making it an all around good choice for modeler and railfan alike. The bad? $450. I'm happy with the battery life too!

Welcome to the Olympus club. The company has a long standing tradition of the industries finest optics. If you believe in consumer reports, Olympus is always highly rated in every price range they offer a camera in. IMHO, before anyone buys any digital camera they should check out the pictures an Olympus will deliver before making their choice.

Hi Dan, I have an old Olympus 1.3Mpixel with a 3X zoom, it still works great, but I wanted something better for my NMRA trip. I am very happy with my old Olympus, and it gets lots of use, to the tune of over 10,000 pictures since i've had it. I have filled up 10 CD's full of pictures I have taken with it.

I did do lots of research before I bought my first Digital, and it cost a pretty penny then. I did the same research this time, and bang for the buck landed the 765. I hope to get 4 good years or more out of it. :D
