We do business with what we refer to as Dutch Railroad. Our re-seller in the Netherlands refers to it as NedTrain (not sure about the spelling). And most pictures and web sites I've seen mention NS. Are these all the same? Or is there more than one railroad in the Netherlands. Thanks for any info!

    Hi Al,
NS or Nederlandse Spoorwegen is the official title. In English it translates to Dutch Railways (Railroads) NedTrain is just another term used to describe the same company. There are also numerous departments within the company that have their own identities and names most of which I can't spell.
These departments are responsible for such things as stations, passenger trains, freight trains and tracks.
The NS has a website at http://www.ns.nl

From what I can gather NedTrain is the new name for "NS Materieel" and is the part of the company responsible for locos and rolling-stock.I have a feeling that many of the individual names now being used are a result of partial privatisation.

Thanks Alan for the warm welcome.

I got the info from the above NS site.
Because my native tongue is Dutch it's easy for me to read and translate it.

If anyone likes to read this site in English, goto the translation area of altavista at http://world.altavista.com/ and let AV translate this site for you.

It might trigger some laughs, some expressions don't translate whell grin....

    have fun folks

(I typed this text myself using my own brain for translation hihihi) :D
