Been quiet out here. So here's what I've been working on... Fallberg Depot was a design of John Olsen. I've got a link off the kit info and whatnot on my blog. Hydrocal castings, some plastic pieces and printed roofing. The crane is included with the kit. A fun project with lots of weathering to come! Art
Nothing really big will get unloaded here. I'm thinking the ramp will work for unloading flats and whatnot of bulky items. We use something like this but smaller at where I work to lift machines on a bench. One guy can lift up a 300lbs+ machine pretty easy. I got paint on the crane (rust base, a chipping overcoat then a yellow color) and start weathering it shortly.
Base color is Mineral Red, then a spray of Ammo Chipping effects and then yellow. No pics of the weathering, I've just started. Chipping effect makes it easy to get the patchy, peeling paint effect.
Art - This is looking really good. I have the version that was put out by Downtown Deco and it looks just like yours. The DD kit did not come with the crane, but I do have one that is mostly built. I may need to add that. I just put the roof on mine last night...maybe add a few shingles tonight using the Bar Mills shingles. I also did not use the front of the building, I used wood and placed the door off to the side. I still have a lot left to do, such as wood trim pieces. It's getting there!
Thanks Chuck! Mine has a sheet metal roof on it and is waiting for my lazy arse to paint it sometime. Maybe tomorrow. The crane is a Tichy part. I'm thinking about a shed as well for unloading boxcars/reefers as well. Or a small baggage shed. Not sure yet.
Burnt Umber base coat, Burnt Sienna over spray then applications of AK's Crusted Rust colors and AMMO washes.
